More Cocoa? Sure!

Another rainy, grey day? Great! An excuse for more hot cocoa.

Here’s the thing: If you’re wondering how to decrease the amount of white sugar consumed by your family, hot cocoa might not be the best idea. Fortunately, I’ve figured out some natural, sweet substitutions with lower glycemic indexes so you get the cocoa without the sugar surge.

Honey and Coconut Sugar Hot Cocoa
Servings: 1

INGREDIENTS
1.5 Cups milk
1 Tablespoon cocoa powder
2 Tablespoons coconut sugar
1 Tablespoon honey (or cocoa whipped honey)

PREPARATION
1) Combine ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until combined and warm. Consider topping with a dash of cinnamon and/or a homemade marshmallow.
